Hey Guys I took my 2391 with cnwl a year ago failed it but looking back although its dam hard the course wasn't run that great and i had spent 2 months swating up on it too Anyway previous to the 2391 i had done all my quals with cnwl they had a few good tutors and most of em turn up except one lol Steer clear.

But who is this who do I see what do I see a real training provider who actually gives a hoot and no teenagers in the class who dont wanna learn.

On a serious note if you want to pass the 2391 get down to PTT Unit 5a Icknield way Industrial Est Tring Herts hp23 4jx

The trainer Dave and Rob are very good and provide very good facilities its a more expensive than a college but well worth every penny.

I did my 2392 and now my 2391 with PTT worth every penny you get a deep understanding of what your doing just ask as many questions as possible the ones who dont ask will always wonder and this exam does not leave any room for wondering its a knowledge exam.

Cheers

My rant is over

however i have a total different view, they dont give handout at all, only go through GN3, i had the course and i failed...course fee was expensive as well comparing with others

I failed it first time with my local college and they were crap but the exam is totally about the GN3 they did give out recent test papers...This course you gotta do so much reading even b4 cant rely on a weeks tuition i may still have failed the theory but feel slightly confident i did ok.

All i would say is dont let it beat you give it another go and at PTT they mostly have people who wanna be there....that was really my point i guess. Anyway good luck

i am not saying they are rubbish, they are ok, but i dont recommend them really, unless you are confident that you can pass before you go for them...

The other key factor here is to ask the center/college for information on their average pass percentages-after all, that is the only reason that you are there, to pass!

The national average pass percentage floats around the 40% area but some centers that I do freelance tutoring for have pass percentages in the upper 70 percents-imagine that they field 100 canditates a year and that's one hell of a difference!

No college will ever be good enough to train you sufficiently to meet the requirements of GN3 1.2 which says "The Inspectorcarrying out the inspection and teating of any electrical installation must have.....sound knowledge and experience....be fully versed in the procedures....and employ suitable testing equipment"

Passing 2391 in itself is not making you competent, it is a measure of a certain level of training and experience
