I have 2382-10,2391-10 and degree in electrical. At present work in a factory. Can I do periodic inspection with this qualification without part P? If yes what are other requirements and procedure. If I pass 2396(coming) can I design without part P to install by part P electricians. Does contractor want 2396 qualified persons to work as designer to design non std circuits.

you are well qualified to do inspection and testing. part p would only apply on doing remedial work in domestic property.

People get so hooked up on this part P. This requirement is that installation work (the installer) must carry out works as described in the part P document. It has no effect on EICR (periodics) or design work. Being competent enough is another matter.

You do not require any qualifications to conduct PIRs/EICRs.
Part P does not cover Inspection and testing, however some Local Authorities may not accept reports from un-registered Inspectors.
Again, you do not require any qualifications to design, nor do you need to be Part P registered.
You would have to consult the Contractor to determine what they would want a 2396 qualified person to do.
