I was just reading a previous exam paper, anyone know which reg the answer refers to?
17. State the maximum permitted rcd required by BS7671 for each of the following situations

b) Thermoplastic wiring in an area where a particular risk of fire exists, such as a wood machining shop
c) A wall mounted heater in a domestic bathroom

Hi tex431,

I think the reg you are looking at for c) is 30mA and is covered by reg 415.1.1.

For b) I think it would be 705.422.7 and it would be 300mA.

Hope that helps,

Best wishes

Rex

Any question with the wording "where a particular risk of fire exists" will be primarily referring to section 422.
In this case the answer is 422.3.9

The bathroom will be with reference to 701.411.3.3

* Note that these regs are from amendment 1, as my red book is not local to me at the moment.
