Yeah re-take sorry

I thought it would be to

But that was what they said this morning

I checked on the calender and that is offically the 45 days they state in the guide book so do they sometimes come out earlier ?? or is it always bang on the 45 working days ?

Seems a bit harsh if say you have to pay for another exam before youve found out the results to your previous attempt, surely ?

I spoke to my 2391 lecturerer on this, he said the results won't be out to march at the earlist taking account of the holidays, furthermore in order to register for a retake should it prove necassary
it has to be done 10 weeks prior to the exam, so although city & guilds do have an exam date on the 10/02 it's only one of the many dates they have for the exam throughout the year
so really once the results are published a retake could be many weeks later, however as my lecturer pointed out at least the exam can be set to allow revision-he's got 20 years experiance with this, so he's been doin it:)

on another thread "CRAGS" had done the october 10 exam and put in to take the december exam as he hadnt found out his result right up until the dec exam
also the 10 week thing cant be true i phoned up my local college just 2 weeks before the 2nd dec exam and enrolled on that one
my examination timetable even has the date 26th november when i was put in for it
how can your lecturer know better than city and guilds even with the holidays counted in the 45 days marking time is Mon 7th feb
just have to wait and see i suppose

I put in for dec without knowing my results from oct as I was informed this was ok. You can book onto exam 10 weeks before but you will incur a late booking fee.

Crags, ur right in the ball there, ye' u need 10 weeks before or a late boooking charge...so smart move on getting bokked before even though u don't know the result as city & guilds/college just give your money back in the event if you didn't need to take it

but lucas I stand corrected' your quite right, it's 45 days city guilds are quite addament they'll have the results out "02 feb

just been on the phone to c&g and my training centre for an hour or so !!!
its unbelievable how people can give such contradicting info

c&g are saying you need to put in for exam minimum 1 monty before exam date

training centre showed me a copy of my examination timetable ( basically the sheet they print off to show your time and that you are sitting the exam ) and date was 24th nov for 2nd dec exam thus proving the centre manager didnt have to register me at least a month before was roughly 1 week !!!

so what would people do in this situation ?? Been told re sit fee is £69 and 2nd dec '10 results out mon 7th feb next written exam thursday 10th feb

Already passed practical and need this qual bad for so many jobs wish theyd make it easier ( not the exam just in taking it and knowing results and not so much different info )

rant over

I was given the option of putting in for the aug exam a day before but thought it too soon. City & guilds waste of time when I phoned bout sitting exam again before knowing results they told me I could not do it but they were not 100% I asked who would be to the reply of your training centre.

Pay the 69 quid now get into the feb 10 exam, if by that time u hear youve passed the 12/10 anyway which u should, you'll get a refund from C&G, actully I thought it was 30 quid, but 69 sounds more like it

yeah more confusion the £69 includes a late fee or some bulsh*t

surely you should be able to take the next available exam once you know your results without all these penalties and confusion

its hard as well im right on the borderline i know i didnt completely shank it and i know didnt fly through it either
