hi quite new to this would like know where can do a intensive 2391 course around the east midlands area for a decent price? any help be appreciated

Yep...first port of call....GN3. And study it hard......As far as the course fees are concerned....you should be budgeting for about ÂŁ500....anything less is likely to be rubbish.........

A 2391 "course" is generally nothing more than going over past papers and a bit of discussion between the students and tutor.

Practical wise, it's a case of you should know what you're doing before you go there! Knowing the instruments and where to refer to OSG or BRB to check the test results are acceptable

You'd be better off reading and understanding GN3, then finding past papers on the internet (note old ones pre-2009 will have some 16th-ed specific questions that these days have no correct answer), having a go at them, then reading the various 2391 threads on here, relative to the past paper you've attempted.

Even though most of use an MFT, the exam requires you to name the specific individual instrument that you would use to carry out a particular test, and which range you would select etc

Exam technique is most important, and the 2391-10 Exam Success book explains and illustrates how to present your answers.

Some test centres allow you to take the exam without the course... this way you could save the money

Simon.

There are at least 2 places in Birmingham that do a 4/5 day course for around ÂŁ500.

Stephenson College in Coalville, and Loughborough College both do a 9 week evening course for around ÂŁ300. Other than those, I dont think there are any other cheaper options.
I wanted to do mine at Coalville over 5 weeks, one day a week, but they have not had enough demand for it, so are only doing the evening course this term.

Thats not particularly helpful is it, as it gives hundred of links without the specific question answered.
If you go through most of them, you'll find that either they are not in the Midlands, they dont do the course at the moment, or they are ridiculously expensive.
