Sent my collage an email asking where my certificate is and they have informed me they sent it a week ago and if it hasn't got to me then don't worry it will be send back to them but it will take a month to get back to them. Grrrrrr waited long enough thanks, took the exam in march,p##ed off

Surely you have your letter from C&G informing you that you had passed?

So waiting a bit longer for a certificate cant be that important can it?

Well done there buddy, must have one of the last 2391.
Now they have split it up, to make more money and I reckon to dumb it down.

Boydy

You're right there Boydy - the 2391 was ten rounds with Mike Tyson (well that's how it was explained to me) and it was!
Why it was changed? Who knows - but like all these things a retrograde step - in my opinion.

dumb down my a*** , sat the 2394 still to sit the 2395 , their use to be a written and a practical for 2391 now their is 2 written 2 practical and a online exam , and if u check the stats the pass rate has dropped , plus its double the price , rant over

But a lot less in depth, I took the 2391 about 10 years ago, very difficult, I work with a few guys doing the 2394 and you can't even compare them . Rant over

So there's the reason:devil:

The old 2391 qualification covered both areas and was considered a very prestigious qualification to hold due to the difficulty in passing the course.

That quote is from the training website

funny because my college lecturer done the old 2391 and says the new one is a lot harder as the old one was always the same old questions or there abouts , and the new exams are a lot more in depth , i will give you that the online one aint that hard but no way are the written ones easyier than the 2391

So why, due to being fairly new, are old 2391 papers being used for revision for the new set up? You couldn't get any more in depth questions than what have been used for a long long time, thing is you had to remember both initial verification and periodic inspection and testing to pass one exam, now you only have to study and remember one, do the exam and then do it again for the other.

they are being used as revision because C&G dont give any information on what will be in the exam , they say you should know all the regs , on my course they gave us about 10 old 2391 exams for homework because they just assumed it wouldnt be much different but the the 2394 exam i sat did not have 1 question from any the papers , if it was easyier then the pass mark would have shot up but its hasnt its stayed the same and some month it has dropped

I find 2394 easy as its only for new work which what I am doing but as of next year with the new part p they will allow you to sin off other peoples work .

so you passed it no problem then

Its not that the questions are easier in the 2394 and 2395 compared to the 2391, your lecturer is talking ******** when he says the new format is more in depth, the questions are pretty much the same just worded different, it's the fact you only have to concentrate on initial verification for example for one exam, then periodic for the other, making it easier overall.
But either way you still have to know your onions to get the quals regardless.

As with everything else, you cannot compare the two systems based simply on pass rates - if someone isn't up to it then they're going to fail irrespective of how easy/hard it is, and with the breaking up of the system into easier to digest chunks then it's human nature that you're going to be more inclined to 'give it a go' whether you're up to the task or not.

It’s sad that you had to say no more money to them for them to pull their fingers out.
