Hi all!
I'm new to the forum so first of all I would like to say hi!!
I am thinking long and hard about taking the new 2395 exam, I wouldn't need to do the 2394 as I only qualified a year ago.
I was wondering if anyone has any advise, as taking the exam means a promotion and more cash!! And most of all more experience and understanding of all aspects of All situations of industrial and commercial testing.
Cheers Matt

Av been trying to save a bit of money up each month for the 2391 course? I take it this no longer runs anymore? I am in Glasgow so would be looking for a simlar qualification

I don't need to do the 2394 because my qualifications are under a year old it rules out the need for the 2394 completely. It's something that has been discussed with JTL and that's what they informed me, not really complaining to be honest.

Hi mate, where is the information about not needing 2394, I qualified less than year ago I'm booked in for 2395 in April and was going to save for 2394 after. What happens after a year of being qualified.

This rule is in the City & Guilds handbook for these qualifications. There is no requirement to sit both qualifications. However, if you decide not to study the 2394 and go straight for the 2395, it is fully assumed you know how to inspect, test, verify and certify single phase and three phase installations. City & Guilds show no mercy, they have not lowered the level of the 2391. Speaking to staff from centres, their belief is that is much harder than the 2391

iv done 2394 and am currently doing 2395. it is basically 2391 split in 2. there is a mith that 2394 is inferior qualification and easy. this is not the case. you need to do both qualifications in my opinion. suppose if you only do new installs take the 2394 and if you only so EICRs do 2395.
