Hello.
I just moved to a new flat to discover that all the rooms have floor lamps connected to wall light switches.
I googled and found that these are 2A round 3 pin sockets, used in old flat for lighting circuits.
I would like to swap the floor lamps for new ones, but still be able to use arrangement with the wall switch.

My question:
1. As I understand new lamps come with regular 3 pin square plug. Is there an adapter that will allow me to buy regular lamps and use the old sockets?
2. Can I take apart the old plugs and fit them to the new lamp cables? should it be a problem?
How about grounding, both old and new have 3 wires?

Thanks in advance for your help.

1. No

2. Yes, but you can buy new 2 amp plugs at any electrical wholesaler.
