Is it possible to have 3 electric showers of about 9 to 10kw each on one house hold property if you install a contactor which will only allow one or two on at once?

I did something similar last year on a refurb of a huge house. 3 phase supply mind you but no contactor so I'd ask if you're putting in something to reduce the possible use is there any point in having so many?

contactors wont do that for you mate you can only achieve it with a changeover switch, you would most likely only be able to run one at a time, as the chances are 2x 10kw showers work out at about 86ish amps, added to the rest of the max demand for all other circuits, bye bye DNO bullet.

Unfortunately it's only a single phase supply, but again it's a huge house and they currently have one electric shower in an loft conversion upstairs and a electric shower in ensuite, and they have a mixer shower in main bathroom, but if they have a bath, this empties the hot water tank and they can't jump in for quick shower after bath, hence after an electric shower in there! I have investigate larger hot water tank but believe it would need to be huge!!

I have no idea, but I would love to know what the time / current characteristics are for electric showers.

For example are they running at 10.8kW ampage rating when switched on, for the 6 minutes 20 seconds I take to have a shower.

What is the truth. I'm sure there are some interesting stats to be had.

However I don't think there is any chance of diversity here - if there are three showers then chances are they will all be on at the same times ...... (ps I know what the diversity rules are for it, we're looking good for the third shower)

Not sure if this helps
But we once fitted a 10Kw shower in an un-suite with new cabling and the client did not like it because the flow "was not hard enough".
So we ended up fitting an extra cylinder and 2 bar pump just for that shower.
The cylinder was heated just by an Emersion heater.
