Morning all

I've been asked to replace 2no controller units for roller shutter doors. At the moment the customer has a digital unit and they don't really want the expense of replacing like for like.

Can anyone recommend a good simple unit for up and down of a 3-phase motor. (Could go for two contactor units side by side but think they would prefer an all in one unit).

Hope this makes sense?

Cheers

Hi mate. Would be a good idea if you could post a schematic of what you presently have, so we can give better alternatives.

Yes agree you have a pcb controlled motor at the moment this will be monitoring the limits etc and may limit your choice if say they are elv proximity sensors, if you have standard limit switches then if they are rated it may be easy to fit your own set-up but dont forget you want electrical and mechanical lock outs so both contactors cannot pull in together and as already mentioned a deadmans operation when closing ie non-latching closing contactor. Personally replacing all this and putting in the labour usually cost more than just replacing the faulty part of the existing set up.

I agree dark wood but at least going forward it will be maintainable for fairly normal sparks unlike an electronic system. I've changed quite a few rapid roll door controllers for little panels with a small plc in. Very easy to look after in the future

I can give you a circuit using two contactors and a relay (old school style). Not sure about a new school all-in-one controller, never used one.
