Ive always assumed you have 1x 3phase socket (eg. 4pin + E) per mcb...
But at a factory ive been to today, they have four on a radial...

Is this okay? if so please expain how i could do this...

Thanks.

What are the 3 phase sockets used for?

It may be that there are all used for a single peice of equipment that gets moved around the factory, and there is only one peice of equipment that can plug into these sockets, therefore there is little chance of the circuit getting overload

I can't see anything wrong with more than one socket on a radial as long as the cables can withstand the usage. The answer will depend on designed current draw, and cable sizes, taking into account the usual (reference methods, diversity etc).

I agree the the wiring of 3 phase sockets on a muliti radial circuit is normal practice and is perefectly acceptable providing the design is done to take into account the loading, cable type, method of erection, etc etc.

Like Spin said it can be a pain linking each socket, what I did was terminate into a 4" X 4" adaptable box with din rail and klippons and take a single cable back through into socket.
