Got my approved test on monday, this involves testing a main switch room. done some 3 phase testing ,many moons ago tho!!! my ?s are, to test the the phase sequence which is to verify that its the same through out where do you test at ? and is this just carried out on a continuity test?? and all fuses removed or c/bs switched off for Ze test??? earth and neautral combined on a 3 probe instrument??think i have FRIED my brain with all the calculations and drawings i have looked at!! any advice would be great thanks!!!!!
 
Hi.

To verify phase sequence (rotation) you need a phase rotation meter. Usually 3 led's that light up in sequence or some have a rotating disc.

I believe the fluke 1653 has this feature built in.
 
You can also check phase sequence by continuity testing. Phase sequence and phase rotation are different. You only have to verify that your phases are the same throughout the installation.

After locking off and IR testing.
Make sure N is broken t main switch or remove link.
Connect L1 to CPC
Connect L2 to N
Then check continuity at your DBs Switches etc.
