If you take aone line to a single phase ccu does that mean that the...
3 phase did board you took the phase from is now only a two phase and can't operate three phase

Also if so can you run e.g a single phase lighting circuit on a three phase dis board
 
Hi Wilson. You've posted this in the area of the forum we use for Trainee Forum applications so nobody but the forum staff can see it. For general applications such as lighting, just consider a three phase supply as three single phase supplies with a single neutral.

When you use one of the phases you are just using a single phase supply and drawing current on that phase only.

The other two phases will not be drawing current and are not involved, except further back in the supply system.

It is only when you are running motors or the like on a three phase supply without a neutral that the true effects of using a three phase supply become apparent.
