Are you thinking of sleeved re-wireable plugs, in that case I would say that it would have 1970's and the MK safetyplug which are still available in virtually the same design? They are the only one that I know that have the post terminals where you have to wrap the wire round a post and then put the slotted top nut on to it.

Maybe even earlier.

I remember using these around 1973.

I was thinking 70s remember then when I was an apprentice and having to change LOADS on lights used at temp art displays FFS that was cack job

They were certainly about in the mid 80s cos I remember my dad showing them to me. Probably 70s
