Are you thinking of sleeved re-wireable plugs, in that case I would say that it would have 1970's and the MK safetyplug which are still available in virtually the same design? They are the only one that I know that have the post terminals where you have to wrap the wire round a post and then put the slotted top nut on to it.

Maybe even earlier.

I remember using these around 1973.
