Just to let anyone know who has theirs coming up that I found the 302 harder then the 303.
With 2 hours to answer 16 questions the time does fly by and the last few questions I found extremley difficult with only 15 minutes left of the exam.

302) Q. 12 & 13 were both equasion questions about determine conduit size, CaCi etc etc and volt drop if I remember correctly and Q.15 was to draw the earth fault loop path of a TT system.

303) I found relatively easier than the 302 and answered all of the questions with 10 minutes to spare. Cant really remember any questions [took the exam yesterday] so cant help anyone at the moment.

I managed a pass in the 302 with an overall mark of 8/12 which I think gives me an overall credit.
The 303 will be marked for next week but I have so far attained a mark of 8/12 so if I manage a pass thats 1 point making 9/12 [credit overall] if I get 2 points which is a credit then thats 10/12 making a distinction overall.

So all in all Ive managed
301 - Pass
302 - Credit
303 - Credit. Possible distinction.

Needless to say Im well chuffed!

you got a mark of 8/12 for 302? my paper was 16 questions. are you doing C&G????? glad to hear the 303 is easier though as i've got mine next week.then all i'll have is 302 practical and i can finally get my life back.

How our college works, and I wouldnt quote me on this for your own college is this.
You have 3 parts to the 2330 Level 3. 301. 302 and 303.

301 is the GOLA exam and will, depending on your results give you a mark based pass, credit or distinction.
302 and 303 are both made up of 3 parts. Practical, paper work to accompany the practical and the 16 written questions.

Each part of these is based upon pass credit or distinnction with each being awared a set amount of points. Added up will make a total of ??/12 points overall.

With me so far? Good, because it took me ages to work this out!!!!!

Pratical.........Pass = 2 points. Credit = 4 points. Distinction = 6 points.
Paper work....Pass = 1 point. Credit = 2 points. Distinction = 3 points.
16 Questions..Pass = 1 point. Credit = 2 points. Distinction = 3 points.

All of the above added together make a total of 'XX' out of 12.

So if you get 3 distinctions then your points will be 6,3 and 3. Added together make 12. [12/12].

Now overall with all the collected points added together gives you your final garde within that uint. If you get 4 - 6 points then its an overall pass. 7 - 9 points is an overall credit and 10 - 12 points is an overall distinction.

For the 302 I received 4 + 3 + 1 = 8 points overall making my 302 final grade a credit.

For the 303 I have so far 6 + 2 + ? [16 Question result to be received next Tuesday.
But If I get a pass / 1 point its an overall credit.[9/12] If I get a credit or above / 2+ points its an overall distinction. [10/12]

Hope this helps anyone. Ive tried to make it as clear as I can but I know Im not the best at explaining things!

Dont fret too much about it. A pass is a pass is a pass and it doesnt say on your JIB card your results. Even if you get basic points. Its still 4 points overall making a pass on the unit!

There are those in my class who are a whizz with forumlaes and figures and crap on the tools and others, like myself are the other way round. Apart from cutting angles in trunking which I openly admit I am rubbish at. But then thats becasue Im rubbish with figures and working out.

i think my college is the same but i was confused as to how they worked it.but the way you've put it makes it a lot clearer. so far i've got 301 credit or distinction (did it so long ago i can't remember off the top of my head), 302 written=distinction and 303 practical=credit. i've got 303 written next week and 302 practical end of month.just got to get my head round these damn assignment books. they make no sense.
