Hi all

Are the 3036 pull out fuse CU's still seen as acceptable in an EICR?

If everything is in good order and you're confident the DC times will be met all you can do is recommend an upgrade

if all tests are acceptable then yes but i will allways recomend an upgrade down to the customer then

Oh dear, that’s spoilt someone’s day. Can’t browbeat the customer in to an upgrade.

The use of BS 3036 rewireable fuses, provided they provide adequate circuit protection, are NOT a departure from BS7671:2008, Amt 1:2011 and therefore do not require remedial action. ESC Best Practice Guide 4, Issue 3.

not all of us came over with the romans, glenn. some of the younger ones weren't born when 3036's finished being installed. LOL.

they in my mothers house for years and she hasn't had a an electrical fault ever. going good.

yes but Tel lets face it....this is about barriers and enclosures+disconnection times isn`t it....thats assuming the correct fusewire has been used of course....

Also assuming that the CU isn't one of the wooden framed types AND the paxolin backplate is present & intact.

The newer generation will not have come across these before and it seems colleges do very little to educate them.

Have you ever tried to burn one? I slung one on the fire back, the fire went out over night. The bloody thing was still there in the morning.
