Anyone know if there is a reg in regards to supply going in to the top of a rotary isolator. We are changing the isolators over for ac units, long story short they won't reach the top terminals now, so feed can only go in bottom. Just a 2.5mm 3 core swa.

Cheers

I can’t see a problem, check that your not going against manufacturers instructions.

If it is not clear what the supply side is, then maybe a couple of labels over the terminal screw saying feed and load would be a nice touch to help the unwary.

Hi, yeah. That's what I thought. Just having a debate, if its correct. We are labelling the terminals. Nothing on instructions. Just wanted to know it works same, and not breaking regs

Thanks

It works the same, it is a physical switch, opening a pair of contacts.
The only issue may be terminal identification

I’m pretty sure you can enter an enclosure any angle you like as long as your glands etc are installed properly, in fact, if the isolators external I would always try to avoid a top entry due to it maybe preventing unwanted leaks in the future
