Customer wants ceiling mounted 4" fan replaced, he has specified the quietest one I can get as long as its not a ridiculous price.
Any suggestions please.

I just put up an envirovent silent 100T in my own bathroom and it is lovely and quiet. Not silent but very quiet.

I am of course assuming you are talking about a bathroom extract fan and don't require a higher rate of extraction, and assuming an axial fan will do the job.

You can often find that even the quietest fans make noise when ceiling mounted as the vibrations can reverberate through the plasterboard ceiling making a heck of a racket.

As Andy78 says I have recently swapped the one I fitted in my downstairs "takes all of Satans dumps" loo- it was a cheap one that is normally fine on a wall, but in the ceiling plasterboard it was unbelieveably noisy...so paid 20-25 for a "quiet" one and the difference is amazing to be quite frank.

Yes, I fear that may well be the case. With its weight and a current back problem, I don't think I'll be taking this on anytime soon!
