When using these inverters I've been told you have to ground the array with an earth spike ( not using the MET) and install a 100 ma RCD.

According to the DTI if the house earthing System is TNC-S then yes apparently you have to earth the frame to a rod.

According to the manufacturers instructions apparently you need to fit a 100mA RCD, but if your burying cables less than 50mm and they do not have any protection as per 522.6.6 then that 100mA must be a 30mA

I have such a beasty and, not being an electrician, was told the earth was required because it is Transformerless and DC faults can therefore pass to the AC (grid) side. Evo also installed a separate RCD
