Hello i have been ask to sort out a friends shower.
I have taken a look first in the cu which is about 8 years old and the 9.5kw shower is fed by 10mm2 cable which is as its suppose to be.
I then look in the shower pull switch, the live incoming is burned and corroded but the other ends are fine.
I was thinking of cutting the cables back to a suitable place in the loft and jointing them in a 45 amp juction box if there is such a thing. Is this acceptable i would replace the pull switch as well..

Yeah, the junction box just has to remain accessible at all times, so technically you shouldn't put it under the boards in the loft. Otherwise your good to go.

EDIT: Not sure about a junction box, but there are 45a outlets available, could mount this on a plastic box in the loft and do your joints in there.
