Ok thanks, feel better now, still unsure if we'll make the deadline, so maybe will have so see if an MCS company can cert for us.

Hi, based on your comments about the inverter efficiency, now been looking at the SMA 4000TL. Would this cause us problems with G83, or would it be ok if wired as 2 strings - 1 string in port A and 1 in port B?

The 4000TL would require prior permission from the DNO so I wouldn't recommend going down that route.

Do you have any shading on your roof? If you do then I'd recommend the Power One 3.6 (make sure it is the one set for 16A)

If you do not then I would recommend the Fronius IG TL 36.

Let me know what panels you are using and I'll have a look at it for you.

Hi, using Sanyo HIT 250 panels, was planning on two rows of 8, but it's VERY tight on the top, so 10 and 6 would be better. Is this possible?

ok thanks, think will go with the Fronius then - and this won't require permission from the DNO either?

ok great, thanks so much for your help, 1 last question if that's ok? if we still went for the SB 3300, even though efficiency wouldn't be as good, could we go for a 10 and 6 arrangement?

This depends what you mean by 10 and 6. Assuming that the panels are both facing the same orientation, pitch etc. then you can install two strings on the system but they must be equal - 2 strings of 8. If you go for the Fronius IG TL 36 then you can install them all on one string.

I'm assuming you are talking about the physical position of the panels when you mentioned 10 and 6? As in a row of 10 and a row of 6?

yes that's what I did mean, row of 10 and row of 6. so going for the 3300 would mean we would have to go for 2 rows of 8, but with the fronius could do a row of 10 and row of 6 in one string? (yes all same orientation, pitch etc)

The physical position of the panel has no impact on the choice of inverter - it is simply how you wire the panels that will affect the inverter. Wire all the panels in series and connect them to the IG TL 36 or connect two strings of 8 panels for the 3300.

thanks Biggs, the above is what I meant, I'm just not very technical so not using the right language! thanks for your help, much appreciated
