5 / 6 Core Flex Advice Needed Please

Hi Everyone

Don't often get involved in wiring up central heating! I have been asked to install new Honeywell ST9400c to replace ST7100 on a Y plan (Mid-position valve). The new programmer requires a 5 / 6 core flex.

I can get 5 core every where, but I feel over sleeving the earth is bad practice, so how do you guys get on that are doing it all the time?

Any advice would be much appreciated

7 core and cut some out..................I don't like sleeving the CPC but you can do it if you wish on a flexible cable

Thanks for your reply as some of this flex will be surfaced mounted I would prefer a single cable.

You can buy 5 core anywhere. CEF, QVS, TLC.

As dilb says yy, but may have to order always use this now on commercial though!

Sorry what is YY I never touch commercial / industral so never heard of this.

You can't over sleeve the CPC on any cable, green and yellow can only be used as the earthing conductor.

You are right sir, just re-read it. Although like you I wouldnt do it and I dont like it done.
