Just poking looking for work and always have a look on gum.

50 Adverts (from the same center) to train as an electrician, plumber and gas fitter, mentions earnings in the region of ÂŁ40,000 a year or something similar with other bull about it won't take as long to be qualified as you may think.

This must be a big push on to bleed the latest batch of people losing their jobs etc. Seems to be an influx of questions on the forum just lately from people who have no electrical knowledge of very little but are trying their hand at it.

Last time I checked it was a bit more than ÂŁ40,000. ÂŁ50,747 to be precise, for electrician, plumber, gas fitter or green energy installer.
These are the people getting rich quick from becoming an electrician, but without doing any electrical work.
IMO they want wrapping in barbed wire and throwing in the sea.

i know they just get in the way same in all the local papers-metro every morning, my mum even pointed it out to me had to explain to her it was a con for 8 grand.
also seen it on jobsite.com about 10 of em in a row spaming the whole page after page
i havent got a problem with them advertising just aslong as they do it in the rite space not in the looking for work/jobs spaces - and in the advert i saw in metro i saw they have several logos including napit-niceic- even gas safe trade mark ( what have these people got to do with city and guilds?)

I fell for one of those 'look what you can earn' courses, not for sparks thankfully I did complete an apprenticeship.
Left the trade in the mid 90's and bummed a few years then fell for the sales pitch of object programming. 18 months wasted with a commercial training company before I found out all thos 35k jobs didn't exist.

I hate those companies with gusto!
Now I'm trying to get back on the tools I can't believe the same is happening in this industry.
The companies should be subject to stricter standards. I just feel sorry for the people who get pulled in by it.
