Trading Standards is your first port of call, you can also inform your LA Building Control too.

Where do you stop and how much do you want to be involved?
I'd be looking at the local paper too but I'll admit that some of that would be for good publicity for IQ Electrical Ltd! ;)

This sounds like a press release in the local paper should do the trick. Ring the paper cus the editor will always be looking for good content to fill the paper.

Well why not point this out to the local rags...there are a lot of programmes on the TV nowadays sorting out problems caused to decent hard working families by these rougue traders after all..and yes...it would be good publicity for IQ Electrical. Who's the daddy...?!

Yes you can report this character to trading standards or even Labc or perhaps the almagamation of copper mine workers in the Swansea valley, or guild of Stone Masons constructing Hadrians wall

You can then take a guess at which organisation would take any interest in the case
My bet would be on the Guild of Stone Masons, they at least appreciated quality work

On the other hand, you may get personal resentment, harassment, victimisation and a black eye
But its Ok you will have then done what the authorities have no interest in doing, seeing that good people who pay good money and expect the quality and paperwork of that job to be adequate
That will be one more strike against free market thinking, price is the overiding factor
In this case the price was in the region necessary for a better result, the guy is getting away with shoddy practices, but is it worth doing what the authorities wont, to have the satisfaction that one rougue has been curtailed

This is not a Neville Chamberlain type post saying give in to these people,it is more my own thinking on a reality check for personal responsibility

If the power people do nothing about these people, should we ? my answer is "no"
We have enough on our plate beeing the good citizen, without being societies police force as well
