hi guys
ive just been asked to quote to rewire a 6 bedroom house spec is quite low basically a couple of socets and a pendant in each room, alarm and smokes. its the bigger than any other rewire ive had so would like to know if anyone has done a job of similar size, and how much they quoted.
any feedback would be greatly appreciated

What about oven, shower, immersion, heating controls, outside lights, garage, etc. It would also depend a lot on is it occupied, would you have to lift carpets and move beds and wardrobes etc. Kitchen, is it all fitted and tiled, or is it all being renewed and if so is there under cupboard lights. Is there a crawl space under floor?

Assuming it is just a couple of sockets and a pendant in each room + a couple of smokes + bonding, CU, etc and unoccupied I would say about £2000 - £3000.

Is there only 1 bathroom, what about fans?

£2000-3000 for a six bed are u on drugs. Try 5k. And plus who only puts 2 sockets per room. 3/4 is the min.

Obviously it depends on a lot of things (as I thought I described earlier).Around these parts if you price £3000 for a 3 bed rewire you will not get the job, it is as simple as that!

Sorry Eddie but you do understand that there is other rooms in a house other than the bedrooms don't you?

Sorry johno but if you want a reply I will respond , and that is my opinion based on what I charge, the location was never mentioned, but if you want to start being rude about my replys then I will ignore u. The comment is based on a rough price per bedroom and is a guide. As I rewired a 5 bed on the went worth estate and it cost 50k to Rewire , so as I said you can carry on being rude and I will keep my answers to my self

hi guys thanks for all the replys im going in blind because i cant get in till tommorrow to quote the job, the pendants and couple of sockets were his description.
obviously hes going to want the world for next to nothing i was just after a general outline so i dont over quote and losethe job or under quote and cut my throat.
thanks again, ill let you all know how it goes

What area of the country are u in

My old boss went by the theory 4 points (1st & 2nd fix) is a days work.

So a bedroom- 3/4 sockets, 1 s/w (2way to bed?), pendant, bt point, alarm pir. That's basic for a bedroom your looking at 8 points so 2x day rate.

Each to their own really
