Hi and thanks all, yes sorry fuses are I know not protecting connect equipment what I was on about in a lot of circustances there is included a fuse within the isolator / disconnector than then only protects the cable to the equipment, I install a lot of catering equipiment and the manufacturers more often than not insist a fuse of whatever value they choose be incorporated at the point of isolatation whether a plug top or hardwired
