8 Seater Vehicles

Evening all

We're foster carers. And at the moment, we have our own 3 kids plus two in care. Almost a year ago (before the two we have came into our care) we booked a break away to Devon in June and told our eldest that she could take a friend. Now we have an extra two kids, we've realised that our 7 seater isn't big enough to take us all down to Devon!!

I'm based in York, and was wondering if anyone knows anywhere I can hire an 8 seater or larger for our holiday away. Most national hire companies want to charge the earth and I'm hoping to find something a little cheaper!

Have you considered a minibus? Transit sized, will seat 8 in comfort, plus all the baggage that goes with it.

Yeah I have, its knowing where to hire one from that is a reasonable price. I had two quotes... £700 & £1200 for the week! I may aswell buy an old mpv myself with a bit of tax and test on it and just use it for the holiday!

lol, yeah I'd do it with my own, but I'd be strung up with foster kids!!

I remember as a kid, my grandad had a 2 seater, I used to travel in the footwell!!

Cheapest I've seen but its all down south to collect! I need to get from York to Devon, and back.

I remember as a kid, my grandad had a 2 seater, I used to travel in the footwell!!

years ago, my old man has a ford 10. us kids were in the boot if he'd got mother and 2 others.

If your hiring a mini bus check that your licence will allow you to drive a mini bus as older licences allow drivers to drive a lot more vehicles than newer licences

I passed in October 1996, the last year I think that allows you to drive a wider range of vehicles.
