Got a enquiry from a small developer for the cheapest 550w system. It's to pass planning and the roofs got heavy shading so it really is pointless. It really is a mockery of the system but I guess as long as my paperwork states heavy shading who am I to preach.

Anyone got any cheap as chips solutions ? Haven't got back to my office yet, but thinking yingli 265x2 with micro inverters ? Any alternatives. I think it will have to be retro fit.

Mastervolt soladin 600 might do it, though strings, isolators etc we installed a 550 w system installed about 3 years ago - 3 x sharp 185 w 1 x soladin 600
so a course of micros might be a cheaper installation less cabling, less dc work.

You should be paying less than 50p/W for cheap as chips poly's - we've just bought a load of black on black 240w polys ... ideal for this kind of project - look smart, cost diddly.. also there are other (cheaper than Yingli) suppliers of 260-300W mono and poly panels.

If you can do it 'in roof' - he'll save on the cost of the tiles and you can use his roofers to fit it under your supervision - he was going to have to pay them to put the tiles on anway, suddenly costs come down.

I've got 4 black black Winaico 190s you could have, I think they will go on a Soladin 600 or if you use Enecsys micro inverters I'll chuck in a load of cables and splitters for free. I'm happy to sell the panels for 25p/Wp.
