Hi!I'm a 16 year old lad whos currentlly attending a course in electrical installation (C&G 2330) level 1,2 & 3. But I have a few questions, that I'd like to hear a different opinion rather than just college.

  • Can I legally work as an Electrician at level 2?(bear in mind I don't mean testing etc, simply installing on most likly a domestic scale)
  • What should I expect when I finish my course?I presume going from working in a small bay, to full scale sites would be a big jump ?
  • Is being JIB approved important when it comes to working?
  • While I've been looking at jobs in the trade, I noticed most people want a apprentice trained electrician, will I struggle being a college trained student ?
  • Any advice on what to watch out for when looking for apprenticeships?
Thanks for your answers in advance,
Jason.
