A little zoning issue.

Chaps,

A little input if you would.

Kitchen refit.

Imagine if you will, standard base units with worktop. Induction hob etc. No access from ceiling above.

Now, there are going to be no wall cupboards at all, but the extractor is one of these space age type things.

So, i need to get a supply to it, which i normally spur straight off the top of a socket at worktop height and mount it in the nearest cupboard.

My only option i can see is to run a switched spur, drop the cable below worktop level, along behind the units and then straight up the centre line of the hob up to the extractor.

Now i reckon this should be ok, but i would appreciate your thoughts.

Ta. :)

Cant see a problem with that so long as cable is surface mounted as it wont be travelling in a horizonal or vertical plane from the spur and of course you will have taken into account that no one has to reach across the hob for isolation etc

I would have thought you need an accessory in your sight to show the safe zone,
The chances of someone drilling above the hob would be minimal though

I would probably try to look for a spur or even a box and blank plate adjacent to the hood if possible

Can't see a problem. It's very unlikely that someone is going to drill a hole above the hob.

If I read your post right, then the only other option you have is to chase vertically from the SFS to the ceiling line where you come into the 150mm horizontal zone, along and then drop down to extractor. Obviously lot more work/aggro though:mad:.

Thanks all.

Believe me, the client WILL NOT want any plates or un-neccessary spurs, although i suppose i could take it to the ceiling line, across and then down.

Its what you would call a "minimalist" kitchen with very few sockets etc.

Money dont buy taste and all that. :D
