Hello folks!

I have had a change of work recently and now have to find more work.
I got my 17th edition last year with a view to doing whatever courses I need to start working as an electrician. I wonder if one of you would be so kind as to tell me what courses I need.
I have been working on AC and DC systems with generators, off grid and auto mains fail equipment.
I had thought about doing inspection and testing but before I took the plunge I thought I should find out from yourelves rather than asking people who want to charge me for training as soon as look at me.
Cheers!

That is encouraging :) ... what doesn't come under part P ? Dont mean to sound daft but I'm assuming nothing at present :) I got the 17th edition as the stuff I've been up to has all been remote site work and utilities but did not have time to get any more qualification. What type of stuff can I do legitimately having obtained the 17th edition in the real world, which for me is a rural enviroment?
Cheers!

Its all well and good having the courses but its the ability to do the work is a different story.. With 17th edition you can register with a scam and legally do work in a domestic property..

What practical experience do you have ?

Hello, I'm a fairly practical kind of person having spent 10 years doing engineering in remote locations for the comms industry. I've worked a lot on 48vdc inverter chargers linked up with generators of various types whether grid tied or off grid, I have done installs with step down transformers and phase synching Gennies, solar, hydro, fuel cell. I don't really see my getting into wiring houses too much and would rather get into testing and inspection. With my last job Ive got various licences but they arent really qualifications I can use So I have decided to try and make a living on the base of the 17th edition that I ended up with. Bit of a jack of all trade some would say....
Cheers!
