A flat has had water damage and called out as shower was tripping both RCDs when light put on changed light fitting as full of water and shower isolator. Still tripping RCDs so have to look in void for any connections checked cu and lights on first RCD controlled by 1mcb, checked other RCD and the two mcbs on that turn off bedroom and bathroom lights when switched off even when 2nd RCD is turned off? Checked all wording to both RCDs and looks correct.
Any ideas ?

No tests yet going back today, dried all connection and replaced chock blocks that I could access . 2nd RCD probably damaged as mcbs controlling lights even when off. No water damage in cu.

The timed extractor fan not working so I me guessing that a perminant feed off first RCD lights going to that then switched by 2nd RCD lights fan full of water and causing control by both RCDs.???

I'm having difficulty in reading this, it's either my hangover or your grammer.

The Grammar Police have not charged you on this occasion. However, this should be taken as an official caution and will remain on your record :)

Will tell you results later like your idea Murdoch but don't think any 2gang switches that's why was thinking extractor, all working fine last year when I done eicr.
I know posting without test results is a bit silly but if I had done tests there would be no point in posting as I would have known the problem and resolved it, just wanted a general feel of what you all thought.

My guess is an earth to N fault in the damaged light fitting. This will become a problem when other devices draw large currents.
