I'm looking at tendering for work for housing developers such as persimmon & Bovis. I know some sites let you on with just cscs but I'm wonder if these sort of sites require you to have an ecs card? Cheers

Gaining access onto site without ECS card only CSCS operative

Hi all,
I'm sure this has been asked over & over but I've got a chance to get onto the big housing development sites I.e Bovis & persimmon. As I've got 2330 level 3 and my 17th regs and 2394 and 2395 but not a nvq level 3 I don't think I can get an ECS card I think I'm right in what I'm saying here? But I'm registered with Elecsa part p scheme and run my own business and sign my own work off. My question is does anyone have any knowledge on these sort of sites to wether they're just bothered about cscs or do they require ECS. If someone could just give me 2minutes of their time and answer my question just so I know wether going any further with tendering ect.. Or do I consider doing my nvq level 3?

Cheers

I would be working on site, but I don't hold a ECS card which is why I'm worried about wether I should go ahead and tender for the work. If I got the work then I would be doing installation on there to with my lads. All it is I've been on some sites and haven't blinkered an eye at cscs operative but I've been on a few where when filling out it asks if you have cscs, ECS or other card ?

Lee in all honesty just put yourself or your full team through the ECS exam. ÂŁ45 a head, opens doors on jobs like this. Easy exam and nothing to be too concerned about. Tender for the job whilst waiting for an exam date with your local ECS office.
