Hey guys, what wiring accessories do you use? i've gone through a lot of different types and never found a compromise between quality and cost, crabtree were good but ÂŁÂŁÂŁ mk were ok but i had a few problems with the screws stripping threads, a few cheapies from wholesalers which were s*"t and now i'm on Click, the cheap range is ok but they're an off white colour that looks daft against a gloss white frame or skirting and now i'm using Click Mode wich is back to being expensive again, Help me tom cruise!

GET ultimate all the way mate

I prefer MK+, I have seen GET they do some decent stuff.

Also come across Nexus gear, not sure on price and range of the gear but they seem ok

I only use Crabtree on my own jobs, great quality! I know they cost a little more than some brands but I would rather make a little less on materials and install them.

Use BG on certain jobs (spec) only one half of double socket works. (and some 2way switches)
Vent axia VA 100 timer fans, replace 1 in 10. Crap.
JCC downlights discolour.
Get ultimate sockets/spurs no good unless kitchen tiler tiles perferctly around the box, this was two years ago. They might of improved..
Wylex/Crabtree single phase boards, main switch doesn`t have anything to retain main switch in the correct position on din rail during install.
Crabtree 3 phase boards mcbs don`t line up with opening on board cover.
White joint boxes, poor mans J 201+ J401.
Connecting two 1.5 6243y cables in to an aico round detector.
Legrand low energy pendent set were deffective when they first came out, eventually they admitted it was THEIR FAULT!
BG Nexus secondary bt points breaking when phone jack is inserted.
When Ashley made their` blue` backed range of switch fused spurs about 10 years ago. Cheap crap.

In the last ten years the quality of products has dropped shockingly. Wholesaler give you replacement accessorie but the 50 mile round trip or more plus time is our problem.
When BG/Nexus first came out you used to get a 25year guarantee staring you in face, they wised up to that!

Good Monday rant..

The only problem I have found with the GET stuff is the cooker switches and FCU with flex outlet are'nt as low profile as the rest of the range. So when you have a FCU next to a cooker switch it looks odd,but I still like the range. Also use crabtree ,always been good.

Must admit, not being a tight wad, but i use the Click "Polar" trade range if the customer does not specify.

Good quality, cheap and fairly reliable.

Only had a couple of call backs after a couple of years use.

Other than that, i would probably only use MK and to be honest some of the range isnt all that much more expensive.

yeah i use POLAR stuff...!! wholesalers only stock that! never had problem and when i worked for homesever doing insurance stuff they told me to use cheapest stuff possible as it was fixed price work!! 69.00+VAT per call
out!

i think i saw ÂŁ5 quid of that as my greedy boss was a dick!
