Hi

I want to add a single ceiling rose that is controlled by its own switch onto an existing lighting circuit. Ive drawn up a wiring diagram of how I think it should be done, can anyone please clarify whether its fine or do I need to go back to the drawing board!

Thanks

I have my qualifications and calid ECS JIB card etc and I know someone who can certify it, its just that Ive onlly just finished college and wanted to be 100% before continuing. No junction box then, I thought you needed one to make the new light seperate and be only controlled by the new switch? Wont doing it the three plate way mean it will have two switches, one from old light and new one?

Ceiling roses have all the terminals you need to connect in 3 plate method.

You'll have a LOOP, L & N terminals, LOOP being the center terminal with the L & N terminals on either side and a seperate CPC terminal

Wire it like this....

Your fully qualified and JIB and are asking about a lighting circuit? surely the 2330 covers this in the second year?
