Adding capacity to existing system

Hi all.
I am intending to expand a 1.2kw system to just under 4kw.What is the correct procedure to for informing relevant authorities,etc.
I have installed lots of systems but not added to an existing one.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Speak to local supplier.. They are normally pretty helpful.. SSE anyway. They should be able to advise on demand available to premisis. Best case they will come out and just uprate the cut out fuse.. Worse case dig up your drive a run new supply cable in for increased load... Dont just increase the fuse capacity yourself. Good luck.

Thanks Ruskie. Should have mentioned its a PV solar system upgrade and not affecting the main fuse .

What...dig up the drive, bigger cables and fuses...
He only wants to make the system up to 4 KW not 40kw....
