Hi

New to the forum. I'm having my elecsa assessment soonish and want a little advice on my minor work installation. I have existing power to my shed running off a CU in a extension to my house. It's on a 20a MCB RCD protected circuit with SWA cable running outside to the shed. Inside there's a clad mains socket then still running SWA cable (protected cable is 2.5 1.5) this runs to a clad switch that has 1.5 1.0 cable running to a 40W ceiling lamp. Ok. I want to install an outside 60W max bulkhead light to the structure of the shed with a switch on the inside in between the socket and existing light.

Just want a few pointers on how to go about it. Some areas I'm not sure on are:

What cable should I run from inside the shed to the light on the outside? It would only a few inches exposed coming from a hole in the shed panel to the light.

What switches to have between the two lights and the wiring set up between them?

Thanks

depends how the light is fed in the shed loop in or through switch?
standard twin earth and small bit of conduit for the few exposed inches

"It works" and "it's safe" are not necessarily the same thing. With DIY work, they are often far from the same thing.
