With reference to the attached file (LoftSocket.pdf)...
I need to add power in the loft for a TV amplifier. In previous houses I tapped into the light ceiling rose which was easy enough because the lighting circuit was a 'looped circuit' so there was a permanent live available (see pages 1 and 2).
But in in my new house, the lighting circuit is 'single and earth' so there is only a switched live available (see page 3). Therefore the amplifier would only work if the light was turned on !
So, I plan to add a mains socket to the ring main. I found two 2.5mm wires that go to a socket in a bedroom (see page 4).
Is it correct how I plan to wire the loft socket (see page 5) ?
