Evening all,

I’m hoping for a bit of advice on radial circuits. My utility room is supplied by a sub-CU from an MCB on the main CU. The sockets in the utility room are wired on a 20amp radial from the sub-CU. I would like another socket adding - is it acceptable to run 2.5mm cable from an existing socket to a new socket? I understand that it is permitted to install one spur from a socket on a ring final circuit, but not too sure on radial circuits.
Apologies if this has been asked previously - I tried to search the forum but couldn’t see the results as they were all covered by ads.

Thanks in advance
Beeg

first of all, apologies about the ads.... @Dan will be aware by now and will be attempting to fix.

You are right in saying one spur per socket on a ring... but more accurately, thats one UNFUSED spur.... If you extend from a 13A fuse plate, you can have as many as you need, as the entire extended circuit is limited to the 13A

A radial circuit is the same idea... As the origin of the circuit is a 20A breaker, you can extend as many as you like, and from anywhere as the 20A protects the cable from overloading.
