The existing underfloor heating in my flat is over 20 years old and is under or embedded in the concrete substrate under wooden flooring.

It is connected to the off-peak/Economy 7, comes on at night and stores the energy to release throughout the day. It is controlled by a 'weather-watcher' thermostat outside on the balcony that switches it on when the temperature drops to a certain level.

  • Would it be possible to disconnect it from night time off-peak and connect it to peak so I can switch it on at any time?

  • There are currently no thermostats inside the property so would it be possible to disconnect the outside 'weather-watcher' and retrofit a thermostat inside?

  • There are fuses for the underfloor heating in each room - would it be possible to connect a thermostat from the fuses to put a thermostat in each room?

Thanks in advance for any advice!
