MCS Renewables

We have been asked to add to a customers system.
They have an Anglian 1.9 kW system on the home on the 43p rate.
The customer wants to add 4 kW onto his garage.

A) Is the 43p rate safe and ring fenced for the 1.9 kW ?
B) Will he get 15p on the next 2.1 kW and then 13p for the remainder or 13p for all the new system as it takes him over the 4kW threshold ?
C) Do I need to connect to the existing meter or is the addition a new meter ?
D) If the customer swops his electric to a new supplier would he get away with a new fit contract in addition to the one he has with his old import company,

Not to worried about the actual rates more the principle.
Sorry but not had to get involved with this sort of thing before and wanted to get some options and advice
Thanks

I think
A Old FIT is safe
B 4KW will be at 15.44
C New meter will have to be fitted
D New FIT contract and might be good idea to stay will existing FIT provider to avoid confusion

Would be good idea to seek advice from FIT provider and have it in writing

My understanding here is,
A old fit rate should be safe
B as the addition would take them over 4 kwp then this would go on the 4-10kwp tarrif, so I personally would make the new addition 2.1kwp so keeping it all in the >4kwp tarrif, it does depend on the sums though.
c You can put it all through the same meter and it gets split up on a system sized % basis, or you could just fit a new meter on the new system, which I feel would save any disputes with the fit provider in the future.
D you do not have to have the same supplier as FIT provider, most of my customers did their FIT's with Good Energy, phone them for any conformation, they have been very helpful to most.

I hope this helps.

Earthstore is correct.

Whenever you install an extension then the tariff for the new part is based on the total system size including the original.

The original system and any extension to it would need a FiT contract with a single supplier.
