Hello,

I have a 6-way Hager consumer unit with a 100A 30mA rcd main switch, circuits are on individual mcbs. It is in a commercial environment.

If i wanted to add an extra socket into the rfc would the fact that there is a 30mA rcd main switch satisfy the requirement for additional protection for socket circuits?

Could it then be stated on a minor works certificate that there is a departure from bs7671 as circuits are not divided to avoid hazards and minimize inconvenience in the event of a fault.

Any help on this would be much appreciated!

Thanks

As you say not an ideal situation with all circuits being on the one RCD but difficult to argue with a customer the fact.
