Hi, im hoping someone can help me. i purchased my house around 2 months ago and on the day of moving in and turning the electricity on, the alarm immediately went off! i pulled out the fuse which didnt help so i took off the front cover and disconnected the battery! ive since reconnected the battery which i assume has gone flat as the alarm hasnt sounded! obviously prior to all this i did contact the estate agents etc but with no bloody luck of getting the code! ive read through all the user manuals and searched online which advised me to press prog,0123 8 then enter my new code, however non of this has worked.

please keep in mind i am not an electrician and i am new to this site, so i am sorry if this has been discussed before, i did have a good look prior to posting this but couldnt find anything helpful. at the moment the alarm is connected to the mains and flat battery but the fuse is out.

any suggestions? other than smashing the annoying thing and doing without?

all the best, Karl

Hi reset panel to factory settings by clearing NVM chip. Manual ca be found here. http://www.commsi.co.uk/acatalog/accenta optima manual.pdf
Power up panel with battery connected , terminal voltage at battery must be 13.2 v or higher to charge Test current draw of battery under charge conditions. If it isn't pulling current , then replace it as knackered. If its flat but ok then you should see > 40-50 mA maybe higher which will reduce as it charges. Bell may have a SAB module which contains a battery. This could also be flat So after power has been on for hour or so disconnect panel ac and battery. If siren or bell outside rings then jobs a good en

Thanks. I do a lot more for the site than just change a few alarm batterys. EICRs, PAT, numerous little jobs. Never away from the place.
