This isn't about the pros and cons of the various job lead and advertising sites.
Had an email from checkatrade saying that during April and probably future months you can either pay a reduced 50% monthly fee or become associated member which means you won't appear in general search results but people can it seems still find you by name and there is no fee for April if you do this. Have taken that option for now.
No point spending nearly ÂŁ100 per month when there is no likely work coming from it. It has been a profitable decision in the past but times have changed.

Had the same email @Gavin John Hyde, going to call today and see what the cost of affiliated is, no point advertising if I’m not going to attend anyway, all existing customers will my details in the event of an emergency anyway

Affiliated is free for April.. Its a fancy way of saying pause your membership... As I read it you won't be found if somebody searches electrician in your area but if they know your company name they can still view your profile etc..
I filled the form in and within a minute had an auto reply saying done. Nothing else needed.

If you also use Rated People for advertising they will give you a 2 month payment break so nothing to pay. Might only save you ÂŁ24 or more a month but better to have it in Your account than not.
Just contact them via the Web form on the RP website and they will email you back.
