Advertising and getting your name out there

Morning all,

I was wondering if anyone has any advice with regards to advertising and getting the company name out there?

Just started up on my own a month ago and getting some work through word of mouth (the best advertising obviously), but need to ramp things up a bit. Friends in the building trade say Yellow pages isn't worth the money, but they've been established for years and all their work is word of mouth.

HI mate, try your local paper or parish magazine thats always worked for me, and if you can just take it easy for a year, do good work and at a competetive price and word soon travels

Get your car or van signed up as this will be a mobile advertisment. Always carry business cards, and get your business listed with google maps...........usually comes top of the web searches.
