hi all.

Main reason for this message is gain some help, advice etc and experience.

Just finished an access course for a domestic electrician ( yes I know these intense courses are seen as not great, but being my age etc I was unable to go to college and my previous qualifications ruled me out of a apprenticeship, so had no choice really) I'm writing this to ask for advice in getting a role as an electrician mate or improver? My knowledge base is low as I expected but hoping I could be pointed in the right direction or if someone in the Swindon area or Cornwall maybe willin to help me out.

Feedback and advice welcomed. Thank you.

I see there is work for electricians in Swindon in Electricians jobs, maybe they may take on an improver. Put ads in all the local elec. wholesalers slaver for free of summat

As Vortigern said rightly, advertise yourself. I got my mentor based electricians mate job by putting an A4 ad with rip off business cards held on with foam double back sticky. I got a couple of calls but only needed one. Been with him a year now and has helped me immensely with my NVQ3 portfolio. The confidence I now have, electrically speaking, is immense. If people don't know you are available how WILL they know.
I did contemplate putting fliers on the windscreens outside of the local ECS testing place on the day as you have 50 or so electricians and others in the same place at the same time from the same area, didn't need to in the end but I may patent that idea!
