I'm a Electrician and my existing multicutter - the green Bosch PMF180E DIY version, has given up the ghost. I'm looking to buy a replacement but as yet undecided on the type ie:-Worx Pro Sonicrafter or a Bosch GOP 250 Multicutter. Both of these offer a 3 year professional gaurantee.

I've ruled out the Fein, which is also good but not at twice the cost of the other 2 !!

Any experiences out there on how these machines will survive in a trademans environment?

I'm a dedicated Fein user, but I bought mine when it was Hobson's choice or no choice.
Have you considered having the Bosch PMF 180E repaired, this may be the cost effective option. If the Bosch service centre can't repair it they will usually give you a substantial loyalty discount on a new Bosch model.
Considering your selected choices I would pick the Bosch GOP 250, just because the service network is easier to access and you know that in 10 plus years spare parts will still be available.

Topquark: There's now mechanical wear within the mechanism, so it means it doesn't cut very well due to reduced side to side movement. No surprise really because I've used it to cutout plaster channels for new cabling.

The abrasive plaster/mortar dust sucked-in over the past couple of years, has probably killed it!!

I'd definitely say it's worth getting a Bosch repair centre to at least give you an estimate.

I've got the 10.8V battery version, and it's worth every penny I paid for it, though admittedly those little batteries don't hold much charge if you're beasting it!

Yep, that's what happened to mine. I've ordered the spare part for it now (still got loads of blades etc left so worth fixing it).

There's a synthetic material bush inside the bearing flange that has gone. Ordered the part from here: Buy Spare Parts for Bosch Multipurpose Tool GOP 10,8V-LI - 3 601 H58 000 - Powertool Spares
