Hi guys,
I am based in guildford and I need some advice on where to go next.
I am looking for an apprenticeship, or even just one day a week to gain some experience.
I'm 28 years old, mature and sensible. I am in my final year at college and have received good grades throughout. I am familiar with testing and most importantly, I know how to make a good cup of tea

I know you guys read a lot of these everyday on the forum but I'm hoping someone can give me a lucky break or some good advice on how to move on from college.

Cheers
Mark

Have been sending emails to companies just crap when u don't get any response. But cheers for the advice lads I will keep going! I was starting to think the Electricians in Guildford don't like tea.. Lol

Stand out?? Pink writing should do it!! Haha

I would probably read that! Haha saying that as I am tight I'd have printed it off in black to save money so wouldn't notice it.

On a serious not I meant the opening paragraph, after reading this I skip straight to the quals section and then if both are good will read the rest

Well I can send u mine in pink if u have a job going lol.. I have got my cv sorted, should I send that with the emails to the companies or would phone calls to them be better? I've emailed a few with no responses.

Phone calls are good I think so long as the guy your talking to has time to speak, calling at the wrong time will just get you fobbed off, where as an email could be read at lunch or when he isn't so busy.

Advantages to both methods really. Jobs are hard to come by at the minute with 100s of applications for 1 position so standing out is good but a lot comes down to luck, until you get chance to sell yourself at the interview stage it's just a case of sticking at it

If your emailing anyway then yes always add your CV
