Hi all,
Been to look at a possible full re-wire job which I will do with my friend, The majority of it should be fine, but the one big problem will be doing the downstairs ring, as their entire downstairs floor area is covered in a solid wood parquet flooring, which they do not want disturbed.
I just wondered how any of you have got round this in the past ? I thought about chasing out from above down to each socket, but that will involve a hell of alot of work and dust, and the property will be occupied while we are working. my other thought is to chase round the walls horizontally between each socket, but im worried that might weaken the strength of the walls too much ?

Any help or advice will be appreciated.

the way i would treat it would as as you do with a concrete floor so its chase down from above dust sheet the floor and tape em down if you can use a wall chaser and vac reduces the dust by loads , what i do with wooden floors is to cover it with a carpet underlay then dust sheet over the top this reduces the risk of damage by the rubble you get when chasing hope thats of help

Get some of those big flexible buckets, the type that people fill with beer and ice at a barbie. stick it under the chase and let the rubble drop in. Obviousley still cover up as above, but it save loads of time clearing up, and their really useful for carrying cable etc in the van and gear into a job.

Actually ignore my comment - I've just remembered you said it was looped at the switch rather than 3 plated at the rose.
