Hi, an architect friend of mine gave me a call the other day as he got a call from a national pat testing company giving him the hard sell, he asked if there was any legal requirment for him to have all his office kit pat tested. The office has him and 1 other as perminant staff and now and then 1 other.

Can someone advise where he stands legaly with not having his computers/printers etc tested.

Cheers

Hi
It is not a legal requirement but is strongly advised and usually insurance companies insist on it being carried out it all depends on what is in the office and that will determine how often it will require to be carried out but is defiantly a good idea to have it done.

Thanks for that, you have said the same as i did, the biggest issue was the bullying tactics of the sales call almost telling him he was about to be locked up and the key being throwen away. I will advise him to check his insurance requirements and get his kit tested.

cheers

I will ask him if he can remember but you know what its like, you get a sales call and 5 min later you have forgot who it was, I do remember he said it was national something or other, I will ask and report back if i get any info.
